Scholarship Program Call for Application 2024-2025

Atacama Consulting Foundation (ACF) is the social arm of Atacama Consulting; a leading environmental consultancy firm in Uganda that provides clientele with tailor made solutions to their needs since its establishment in 2004.

ACF focuses on four key areas: Education, Health, Waste Management, and Community-Based Natural Resource Management. Within this framework, the Foundation is dedicated to environmental sustainability, by nurturing and empowering Uganda’s future environmentalists through scholarships.

ACF’s program therefore offers financial support (tuition &functional fees) to the financially constrained, but well performing and continuing undergraduate students, in specific fields of environmental sciences to enable them complete their studies.

  • Must be a Ugandan National.
  • Continuing students pursuing Undergraduate studies in the specific fields of environmental studies within the respective universities;
    • Bachelor of Science in Forestry at Makerere University
    • Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Environmental Management at Ndejje University
    • Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management at Gulu University
    • Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Economics at Busitema University
    • Bachelor of Environmental Design at Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi
    • Bachelor of Environmental Science Technology and Management at Kyambogo University
  • Must have GPA average of 2.8 and above
  • Must demonstrate need for the sponsorship
  • Be below 25 years of age.

The Foundation however, reserves the right to revise this list periodically, on the recommendation of the Board of Trustees, to suit the relative importance of providing equal opportunities and the wider strategic framework of national capacity building.

  • Students having a retake in the first/preceding year.
  • Students already on scholarships or sponsorships with other organizations.
  • Proof of completion of the first year of study (in any of the eligible universities).
  • Academic performance; the applicants’ Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
  • Recommendation letter from the university students’ coordinator or Lecturer.
  • Extent of financial need by examining the financial status of the applicants themselves, their parents and families.
  • Consideration of gender, regional balance and disability, where candidates are equally qualified.

The scholarship will only cover tuition fees (including functional fees) for undergraduate students from the second year starting from the time of the Award.

  • The scholarship shall be extended as a grant payable directly to the University/Institution on behalf of the beneficiary.
  • Grant renewal shall be subject to receiving satisfactory progress reports from the beneficiaries Faculty/ Institute/University.
  • Any Retakes will result in the withdrawal of the Grant by the Foundation.
  • The Foundation/Trustees reserve the right to withdraw the scholarship or stop payment of the tuition fees at any time at its own discretion without assigning any reason to the awardees. It may also be noted that the award of Scholarship is not a legally binding contract between the Foundation/ Trustees and the Awardees and cannot be challenged in any courts of law.

  • Applicants, whose forms are not filled properly as required or fail to attach the relevant supporting documents will not be considered.
  • The Foundation reserves the right to check and verify any information provided by the applicant.
  • The Foundation reserves the right to reject any application.
  • Any form of canvassing will lead to immediate disqualification

There are no Payments attached to the Application thus the Foundation shall not be responsible in the event that the applicant deals with any third parties.
