Atacama Consulting’s Senior Partner developed the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Guidelines for Uganda’s mining sector, aimed at enhancing sustainable practices within the industry. This comprehensive project involved a thorough review of existing laws, guidelines, and regulations relevant to mining in Uganda, alongside extensive stakeholder consultations with regulatory bodies, lead agencies, and development partners. Additionally, the project included physical inspections and site visits to selected mining locations, ensuring that the guidelines are grounded in practical realities and stakeholder input.
